Love letters to the dead

It all begins with an assignment for Literature class: to write a letter to a dead person.
Laurel decides to write to Kurt Cobain, who died young like her sister May. After the first letter, she can't stop. She writes to Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Jim Morrison, and Heath Ledger, among other famous people. However, she doesn't give any of them to her teacher.
The task remains hidden… like so many things in his life.
Laurel writes about what she's going through: how it feels to start at a new school, how difficult it is to make new friends, what first love is like, what it's like to live with divorced parents, and, most importantly, she writes about May's death. In this way, she begins to connect the things she shared with her sister and her own personal experiences with the lives and deaths of these icons. When she writes the truth about what happened to her, she will be able to accept May's death, and only then will she be able to see and remember her as the person she always was: adorable, amazing, and… imperfect.
Growing up is painful . There's often a secret world that you have to face sooner or later. And it's best faced with the truth and with help.
A book to read with your soul, to share with those we truly love and want to take care of.
